[She'd probably feel odd hearing that a human admires her regardless, but coming from someone as kind as Jude, she feels... guilty. She doesn't deserve his admiration, not when she's done what she's done. Sure, she has no intention of sharing her past or repeating any of those events, yet knowing what she's done, she thinks she's the last person to deserve something like admiration from anyone, let alone Jude.
For the first time, she seriously considers whether or not keeping what happened so tightly under wraps might be deceiving. She doesn't think it's necessary for anyone to know when she knows she'd never hurt 9S again, but she's also sure that Jude wouldn't say that if he knew the truth. Humans shouldn't admire androids when they're just trying to emulate them, let alone an android whose duty was to kill their partner over and over again.
Despite all the praise, and through no fault of his, his feelings hurt her.]
... I don't deserve your admiration. [Her tone is calm and even as always, the same as what's visible of her expression. Still, the words alone already say a lot.]
[ jude can immediately tell something is wrong. he might not be able to see it in her eyes or hear it in her voice, but... her response alone, her blank expression — it speaks volumes. ]
Did I... Did I say something wrong?
[ he sounds regretful. that's the first thing that comes to mind. the last thing jude wanted to do was hurt her. he wanted to make her smile. if it were up to him, 2b and 9s would always be smiling. ]
[Her response comes immediately, firm but reassuring. It's not Jude's fault that his words had such an effect on her. The last thing she should be doing, as both an android and his friend, is causing him undue worry with something she sees as a personal problem.]
It's nothing. You don't need to worry about it. [Although she has a feeling that won't stop him from worrying about it... She wishes conversation came as naturally to her as it does with 9S, or as it did with 6O. She can't even think of another topic to transition to that could takes his mind off this.]
[She sighs, but it's fond rather than out of anything sad. He's right in that she knows better than that, and yet:]
And you know me well enough that I'd say that even while knowing that, right? [There's a hint of humor to her voice though, almost teasing.] You have nothing to apologize for, really. It's fine.
[It definitely isn't fine, but you'll never hear that from her!! She'll make use of her (un)healthy coping mechanisms for as long as possible.]
I don't mind if you stay, but I wouldn't want to keep you from anything. [a beat] Besides, I'm not sure I have anything to talk about that you'd find particularly interesting.
[He said he likes listening to her, but she really can't imagine that she makes for particularly good company. Someone like Jude could probably find any number of people with more to say, after all.]
[It's a good thing she and 9S would never want to split Jude's time between them tbh. What would Jude do if they both wanted to hang out but separately, what then!!]
... You really wouldn't get bored? [Surely he'd have more fun spending time with 9S or someone else who.... does more, honestly.]
[ the natural solution would be to make a jude sandwich and hang out with both of them at once. to be honest, he can't imagine much that would make him happier. ]
[It's probably a little sad how unsure she is about this. People have always said she could stand to loosen up a little, and she's never even doubted that. Circumstances just made that impossible for her, but even here, she doesn't really know how to do it.
Well.... Here goes, apparently........]
Let's take a walk then. [She likes checking up on the Palai when she can honestly, even if she never has much to say.
Although she'll keep in mind that she probably can't go around dashing and jumping between rooftops with Jude here...]

[ his tone is light. soothing. ]
I won't force you to tell me what's wrong, but whatever it is, whatever I said... I'm sorry.

... Well, you've got me there.
[ jude looks up at the sky, clearly thinking over his next words. he doesn't want to say the wrong thing again, whatever it was. ]
Do you... do you want to be alone? I can leave. It's alright.

Besides, you're always interesting. We don't even have to talk. I can just... keep you company?
[ he'd be fine with that. just sitting by her side. ]

Nope!

Sounds good to me.
[ and off they go, jude standing closer to 2b's side than what is strictly necessary. ]
